Sewer / Foul Water System Module - Civil Engineering Software

SEWER

Foul water network analysis and design module, which combines interactive drawing functions with powerful design functions.

What is Sewer?

Sewer is a foul water network analysis and design module, which combines interactive drawing functions with powerful design functions.

Why Choose Sewer?

DATABASE FILE FORMAT

The DBase file format allows rapid data access — find an entry in less than 0.25 seconds in a dataset of 20,000 records — and an un-limited model size. It also ensures compatibility with most geographic information systems and other programs.

GRAPHICAL FUNCTIONS

The graphical functions allow you to easily insert nodes and links, make changes to an existing layout by moving a node, change the flow direction or query a node or link with a click of the mouse. You can transfer the data between Sewer and our MAP module at any time.

BITMAPS AND CADASTRAL BACKDROPS

View the network with a bitmap or cadastral backdrop. Or display the site contours and slope shading to decide on optimum network layout.

MANHOLES AND CULVERTS

Manholes and culverts are displayed in WYSIWYG mode with user-defined line styles, colours and annotations such as manhole name, inlet level, depth, link type, link size, flow, velocity and capacity.

Combine new and existing culverts, consisting of multiple types and sizes, in one model. You can easily simulate the complex system of flows and overflows that are often found in modern towns and cities.

ERF CONNECTIONS DATA

The Sewer module now includes erf-connection functionality. Users can now graphically insert erf connections using the familiar Sewer user interface while the program automatically indicates the lowest point on each erf. The Erf connection database can then be analyzed to report results and warn the user where erf-connections are unable to drain to the main line.

HYDRAULIC AND GEOMETRIC RELATIONSHIPS, ATTENUATION CALCULATIONS

The design will take into account the hydraulic and geometric relationship between the different branches in the network. Attenuation is calculated at every manhole resulting in a solution, which is 30% to 100% more cost-effective than simply adding the inflow peaks together.

DYNAMIC TIME SIMULATION

The dynamic time simulation (unit inflow hydrographs) allows you to view the flow hydrographs of single or multiple culverts in order to gain an insight into the dynamics of the system.

The flexible pumps option allows you to simulate pump stations with up to 4 pumps.

DISPLAY ACCORDING TO CRITERIA

Once you have completed the analysis the network can be displayed according to specific criteria such as flow or calculated size much as a GIS system would.

GENERATE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS

Thereafter you can generate construction drawings such as layout plans and long sections or calculate quantities. The ground profile is automatically extracted from the supporting digital terrain model.

Sewer is the only analysis and design program for foul water networks which combines a powerful design engine with drawing and terrain modeling functions.

“Thanks to the super Civil Designer software, the generation of all the plans took only two days.”
Madeleine Sonnekus :
Jefferes & Green Consulting Engineers

“The project included the earthworks, the internal reticulation, sewers, and the pump station. Using CIivil Designer for all the design and drawings helped a lot. The software really made this project possible - it is so easy to use and saves so much time.”
Lumko Makonza :
Civil & Rural Consultants

“The service we got from Knowledge Base was the same as we like to deliver to our clients. Civil Designer package is a world-class program. On the Sherwood project we moved to the next level.”
Malcolm Biggar
Biggar Engineering

“A major challenge was that we had to connect to an existing 1050mm diameter sewer pipe and the gradient of the pipe meant that some of the erven had to be repositioned. I used Civil Designer software for the first time during this project. My experience with the program was good as I found that it was not difficult to operate. It performed functions quickly and saved me time, allowing me to complete tasks within specified deadlines.”
Linda Nama
Masuku Dube Tifflin

“CIVIL DESIGNER was part of the team too. I used Survey & Terrain, Roads, Sewer, and Storm. The support was good as well. It saved me a lot of time and it is really a lifesaver when it comes to tricky earthworks.”
Mike Aldous
KSS Consulting Engineers
